“Mantra” will be premiered on March 25 in Korzo The Hague.
It’s a piece that I wrote for my dear friend and saxophonist, Josie McClure, and myself on the accordion. The composition was created with the idea of exploring the vibrant and big sounds that our two instruments could produce together – vibrations that can both soothe and energize. The piece begins with a simple and repetitive gesture that gradually slows down, leading the listener on an introspective journey that eventually loses track of time, culminating in an ecstatic climax.
