“The Garden of Earthly Delights” by interdisciplinary artist Aliona Yurtsevich was written for acting accordionist Luka Juhart. Commissioned by NovemberMusic in Den Bosch and TRANSIT’11 in Leuven, Yurtsevich was invited to look at the famous fantasy painting of Jheronimus Bosch from a musical perspective. Human expressions are explored in music and theatrical elements. The structure of the piece is heavily influenced by the compositional structure of the painting: the Void (opening panel), the Garden, Heaven and Hell. Together with the composer and João Pedro Borralho (percussionist), we created a version for 2 players.
